ICE Admits to Detaining 13 Pregnant Women

Rating: 2 votes, 5.00 average.
The National Immigrant Youth Alliance's (NIYA) infiltration of the El Paso detention center has resulted in both the discovery, and the Obama administration's confession that ICE has locked up 13 pregnant women in immigration detention between August and November of 2013. Because of a lack of transparency there is no way of knowing how many pregnant women are currently being held in ICE custody nationwide despite the administration's policy against it.

So some pregnant women are being detained? So what? What is so special about pregnant women? They play tennis, run marathons, work, serve in the military...and they also willingly leave their homes and hump across the desert to enter the US in knowing violation of our laws. Further, our prisons are loaded with pregnant female convicts! They deserve no breaks just because they're pregnant. Or have I missed yet another "protected" class...pregnant Mexican women?

And your point being? Pregnant women are in prison, why not immigration detention?
