Why all the Obama bashing in ILW? Why all the Obama bashing in general? I'll tell you why . . . ultra-conservative right wing reactionaries, Tea Party members, the Republican Party in general with its aspirations to put a Republican in the White House in the next election on the one hand, and zealous immigrant rights groups who will do anything to get CIR passed on the other hand.

Why is it that these groups pin the blame on the president? . . . we are a nation of laws, not men, and the laws of this nation do not allow this type of abuse of our immigration system. It is up to the Legislature to write the laws and up to the various governmental agencies to enforce them. We don't like our tax laws . . . but we have to follow them. We don't like our immigration laws . . . but we have to follow them. And if we want to change them, it is the legislature that has to change them. So far, the legislature on both sides of the isle have refused to even come close on CIR. So now hundreds of thousands of "unaccompanied minors" show up at the border seeking political asylum because things in their countries are whatever they are . . . And then president Obama gets blamed. Go figure.

It's all political. We must secure our borders, not by fences, but by law. We must be compationate, but we must not be duped by Latino special interests groups who if they had it their way would simply open up the floodgates at the Southern Border and let all of Mexico and Central American in.
