Seems like a lot more changes than just a border surge. Great job on the summary, Greg. Hope you didn't miss anything because bad surprises are never good!

The Majority Leader has filled the amendment tree so this bill should pass 30 hours after cloture is invoked at 530pm on Monday. High Noon at 530 if you will....guess the politicians are taking the scientifically flawed concept of daylight savings time to a new level by adding 5.5 hours to the clock....lol. Feel bad for Jack, Sessions, Grassley et al.

Here is my understanding of the end game:

    (1) As of know, there are 67 confirmed votes for final passage. The Democrats are hoping the final tally will be around 75.

    (2) After cloture is invoked on this amendment tomorrow, no other amendments will be considered. Sen. Reid has already filled the amendment tree.

    (3) The Majority Leader will tomorrow file cloture on the CIR bill itself.

    (4) The cloture vote on the CIR bill will occur on Wednesday.

    (5) Final passage of the CIR bill will occur on Friday.

Jack, how do you feel about the Majority Leader's frequent filling of the Amendment Tree? Is he misusing his power?

Greg, does this bill make any minor/major changes to the EB/FB category?

Motion to Invoke Cloture on the Border Security provisions already has 60 votes!!! No longer have to listen to Mr. Sessions' whining...
