Just a quick comment about the increase in Hispanic voters. I think it is a mistake to assume that the new Hispanic voters necessarily will be democrats. It is not clear, to me anyway, how important immigration is to Hispanics who are or have become American citizens. Other issues may be more important to them, such as jobs, the state of the economy, education for their children, world affairs, national security, crime, and so on. The list of possibilities is infinite. If they think they would be better off under a republican administration with a republican majority in the Congress, do you really think they will shun them because they have opposed immigration reform? The democrats will be making a big mistake if they ignore the reality that the Hispanic voters have many needs, and those needs can change. They aren't just interested in immigration reform.

With all due respect to Nolan, any Republican who seriously thinks that Latino voters don't care about immigration is deluding himself and risking his party's destruction. Even Laura Ingraham, no friend of immigration reform, has stated that the Republicans need to appeal more to "traditionally hostile" groups, including Latinos, if the party is to survive very far into the future.

I remember that during the civil rights era, there were also a few people who argued that African-Americans didn't really care about voting rights or abolishing racial segregation.

Nolan's comments about Latinos and immigration are in that same, profoundly mistaken, tradition.

I never said that Hispanic voters don't care about immigration. I just said that immigration isn't the only thing they care about, and the dems could pay a heavy price for assuming that it is. Frankly, I don't understand why anyone would think that the Hispanics aren't concerned about other things too, such as the environment, the state of the economy, war and piece, getting a good education for their children, jobs, the state of the housing market, and so on. As I said previously, the list is infinite. Is there some reason for thinking that they don't care about those things, that Roger is right that all they care about is immigration?

A national survey of Latino voters released on October 20, 2014, supports what I have been saying about their interests going beyond immigration reform. See THE LATINO VOTE IN 2014 AND IMPLICATIONS FOR 2016, available at, Go to page 6 of the slide deck for a summary of the most important issues that the Hispanic community wants elected officials to address for the graphic presentation. But these are the numbers:
    1. Immigration - 51%
    2. Jobs/Economy - 35%
    3. Education - 16%
    4. Health Care - 13%
    5. Wars/Foreign Affairs - 6%

    Dear Editor:

This is not the way to work with the Government majority peoples who had open the companies in
United States have they look into the issues who are they and why they are opening the companies,
and who they are ginning to bring into the Country and why this is the main question.....?
If you are unable to answer this then question then God will take care of you.
Do not be so much care free for others.
now second question is this, what about our children who are getting there education and they are well
qualified in all the fields then what is the further of our children.
Have the Government thought of this.....? No.
They are only interested in the money matters how much they will get in Fees... ?
If this is the question..........then we do not want the Immigrations bills and others
like Diversity visa should be stopped until they are not needed.
Think on this matters and then you should write ........?

    Thank you. sincerely,

    Shaikh Ahmed,
