Do you think that employer sanction laws are being enforced? Look at the facts below, which were copied from a CRS memorandum. "Immigration-Related Worksite Enforcement: Performance Measures," available at http://fas.org/sgp/crs/homesec/R40002.pdf DHS issues fines to fewer than .01% of the US employers.

Pay particular attention to the numbers for fines issued during republican administration. The republicans are luck that their noses don't grow when the claim that republican administrations did more enforcement that the Obama administration. The republican enforcement record is pathetic.

The number of Final Orders for civil money penalties remains very low relative to the number of U.S. employers. Employers receiving Final Orders in any year shown in Table 1 represent less than .01% of U.S. employers.

Table 1. Final Orders and Administrative Fines, FY1999-FY2012
Fiscal Number of Final Year Orders Issued
    1999 215
    2000 312
    2001 297
    2002 91
    2003 52
    2004 10

Could that be because the Republicans are more sympathetic to business and might be more willing to let America's employers and income creators carry out their role in providing jobs and creating prosperity without harassment from overzealous enforcement of technical, punitive immigration regulations which serve only political purposes?

As Nolan well knows, i am not someone who normally goes out of the way to see immigration issues from the Republican perspective. But this might be a well merited exception.

That might be part of the answer, but the republicans haven't been much more aggressive with other types of interior enforcement. Neither party has mounted a late-scale, nationwide enforcement effort. In any case, I stand by my point that the republicans are hypocrites when they complain that the dems aren't enforcing the immigration laws.
