Muslim Woman Wearing Hijab and Jewish Star Thrown Out Of Trump Rally. Roger Algase

Rate this Entry
The Hill reports that an American Muslim flight attendant, Rose Hamid, who was wearing a hijab and a yellow Jewish Star of David of the kind used during the Holocaust, was thrown out of a Donald Trump rally. Ejected with her was Marty Rosenbluth, who, according to another report (see below) is a pro bono lawyer for unauthorized immigrants and had spent several years on Israel's West Bank advocating for Palestinians. He was also wearing a yellow Jewish star.

They were both thrown out when they stood up in silent protest while Trump was accusing Syrian refugees of being affiliated with ISIS and consumed with hate for America.

According to The Hill's January 8 story, some Trump supporters booed and said "Get out!" while the pair, who did nothing to disrupt Trump's speech, were escorted out by security guards. Also, according to Hamid, one person shouted "You have a bomb! You have a bomb!"

She also said that some other people near her held her hand and said "sorry" as she was forced to leave. According to the report, Hamid, who works as a flight attendant. told CNN afterwards that:

"the ugliness came out fast and that's really scary."

The Hill
also stated that Hamid told CNN that she had no plans to disrupt the rally and did not want to be disrespectful. She said that she wanted Trump supporters to see what Muslims were really like, as opposed to the terrorists who appear in TV footage.

See:

http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/...om-trump-rally

For more on Rosenbluth's background as an activist for immigrant and Palestinian rights, see:

http://www.indyweek.com/indyweek/mar...nt?oid=3255480

In a 2009 interview with the website WorldHum, Hamid, the American-born child of a Colombian mother and a Palestinian father, discussed her experiences wearing the hijab as a flight attendant. She also told about how while Muslim airplane travelers, including herself, were nervous because of increased scrutiny after 9/11, she appreciated offers of support they had received from members of Christian and Jewish communities. She said:

"That concept of standing with someone, and knowing someone is standing with you is extremely empowering. I try to stand with others too. I find myself constantly defending the Jewish faith to Palestinians who view Jews only as oppressors."

In the interview, Hamid also mentioned that part of her job involves handing out immigration forms to foreign passengers seeking to enter the United States. These once included, as she related, Mexican members of an Irish dance group coming to perform in the United States.

See:

http://www.worldhum.com/features/tra...ndant-20090716

Perhaps, even without the hijab and yellow Jewish Star of David, the fact that she had handed out immigration documents to Mexicans which they could use to enter the US legally would have been enough to have her thrown out of a Trump rally.

One also has to ask who better represents America, peacefully protesting US citizen immigrant rights advocates such as the Muslim flight attendant and Jewish immigration lawyer, or Trump's strong arm men who threw them out, in a manner typical of rallies for authoritarian figures the world over.

I think that next time she goes to Trump (may Allah be with him) rally, she needs to apologize for mozlems throwing a celebration street parties while blown-up WTC buildings were burning down That way she will not be thrown out of the rally.

PS. While she's at it she could also apologize for Boston marathon bombing, San Bernardino murders, Gang-rapes in Germany, killing 120 people in Paris, execution of police officer in Philadelphia and the list is going on and on )))

Rosa HAMid was just looking for her 15 minutes of fame. She was also there to encourage "IslamoFAUXbia." With all the homegrown Islamic terrorism going on right now, I find it appalling that she's a flight attendant! After the stunt Rosa Hamid pulled last night, she should be placed at the top of the NO FLY LIST. She claims her intentions were "to let people meet a real Muslim." (As if she were an animal displayed at a petting zoo.) In reality she was there to protest, stir up trouble and be interviewed by every Trump hating media outlet. Trying her damnedest to damage his poll ratings and reputation. This just gave Donald some more FREE campaign air time. Thanks Rosa. Your deceitful plan back fired. You were escorted out because you were a protester deliberately dressed to instigate trouble. When a woman dressed like Rosa stands up in the middle of a crowded rally, vigilant people and heightened security are going to respond accordingly. Who's to say there wasn't a suicide bomb vest under that stylish hijab. Everyone should be careful in America today. Open Eyes Save Lives. There's no room for political correctness. We just can afford it.

Since Islam teaches that a Muslim should lie and break agreements with non Muslims these people can not be trusted. They are the source of support for Islamic terrorists. CAIR and the Muslim Brotherhood are radical Islamic sympathizers disguised as players of the "Islamophobia" card. DO NOT LET THESE ORGANIZATIONS FOOL YOU!

"But there are 'good' Muslims," you might say. Yes, these "good" Muslims, like Rosa, are the ones that don't say anything about the BAD Muslims building pipe bombs in their garages. The "good" Muslims, like Rosa, also secretly find JOY and great PLEASURE in TERRORIST acts. All in the name of Allah. "Allahu Akbar!"

The two comments above are good illustrations of why this country needs more courageous Americans such as Rose Hamid, a Muslim, and Marty Rosenbluth, who is Jewish, to stand up against Donald Trump and his anti-immigrant, proto-fascist program of hate against unpopular ethnic and religious minorities, including Latinos and Muslims.

LOL Roger. I wonder what would happen if this mozlem Rosa, or whatever, worn a star of David and hijab and went to her local mosque. Do you think her fellow mozlems would allow her to attend a prayer like that? Why doesn't this "brave" mozlem did not do that? But, anyways, I bet our next President got some extra votes from these mozlem antics. So all is well....Mozlems can continue their freakouts.

Hopefully our next President will do something about this hijab-wearing bullshit in public. He can always ask his buddy Vladimir Putin for advice on how to tackle this problem. I bet if some stupid mozlem tried to attend King Putin rally in hijab that would be last time anyone ever sees the said mozlem ))

    Unregistered222,

If you like what you think is Putin's way of handling hijabs better than the way we do things here in America, then you might feel more comfortable moving to Russia yourself.

You know, I think Putin and Russia might really help out US with this muslim refugee problem. I bet that for a rather reasonable amount of US money Russia can de-mothball their existing refugee facilities they have in Siberia. I bet these facilities can easily house hundreds of thousands of these "refugees" while still saving money for US taxpayers.

Over there these "refugees" can be safe from Isis terrorists and Assad regime thugs as these thugs would not be able to get into Siberia facilities. Also, I'm sure for a reasonable amount of money Russia can provide reliable 24/7 refugee facilities armed protection against Isis and Assad thugs.

The refugees can also work in the healthy climate and enjoy one of the cleanest ecology and beautiful nature landscapes on the planet. Russian cuisine is also very healthy, so overall health of refugees will tolerate it better than cheap US fastfood.

Sounds like a deal of a lifetime for "refugees" and US taxpayers )) Russia can also use some helping hands during these uneasy economical times.

No Roger. They can use helping hands of fake Syrian "refugees" who will be doing actual labor instead of mooching of US taxpayers And should they refuse to do actual labor and start acting up like they do in Germany now - well let us say they will be probably doing it for a very short (and last) time.

One does not need to be prejudiced to understand that attending a Trump rally in the outfit described was an attempt at controversy. That said, it might have been handled better. The reason Trump is doing so well is that most other candidates, from both political parties, are ignoring issues that are important to Americans. I don't agree with Mr. Trump on any issues. I don't like Ted Cruz, but I believe he is a natural born citizen - contrary to common belief, the term natural born citizen was defined by Congress in 1790 in a nationality act. The act was later repealed to make a change in the amount of time needed to naturalize, but Congress did state that children born abroad to American parents are "natural born citizens." At that time the father had to be a citizen, but in 1994 Congress gave mothers this right retroactive to the founding of our nation (they got it in 1934, but not retroactive). Therefore, since Ted Cruz's mother is a citizen, so is he. I prefer Marco Rubio ( who I have met and talked to), but I certainly understand why people like Trump and Cruz.

Retired INS, of course Cruz is a US citizen. The important point is to ask why Trump raised this non-issue in the first place. Doing so is entirely in line with his practice of using the Big Lie to smear anyone who opposes or disagrees with him, in the manner of dictators and autocrats from time immemorial.

The list of people whom Trump has done this to grows longer and longer almost by the day. From Barack Obama, whose citizenship Trump has also falsely denied, to his despicable attacks on John McCain, Megan Kelly and other public figures and reporters too numerous to mention, to this latest attack on Ted Cruz, Trump has shown that there is no level to which he will not stoop in vilifying his opponents instead of answering their arguments.

Long ago, the phrases "politics of the gutter' or "politics of the sewer" were popular. But Trump is far below even that level.

This is also apparent in the people whom Trump has praised - Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un. They are hardly models of freedom and democracy.

If Trump becomes president, woe to anyone who disagrees with him, on immigration or anything else. We should not be surprised of some of them start to disappear suddenly.

Ted Cruz may be a US citizen, depending on his mother's residence in the US and her marital status prior to his birth in Canada but is he a natural born citizen? Too bad no one complained when John McCain or George Romney ran.

Ironically, I may personally be responsible for that 1994 change in our citizenship laws as I was the person who brought the pre-1934 law (which discriminated based on sex) to Norm Mineta's office to get his office to do something. See the Elias and Wauchope cases which I worked on with lead counsel James M. Byrne.

All of the case law and other authorities I have seen on this question show that the term "natural born citizen" means someone who, under the law, is a US citizen at birth, without having to go through a naturalization ceremony. Indeed, "natural" is nothing but another word for "citizen".

That is why we call the process of becoming a citizen "naturalization". What other meaning could that term have?
