A Nebraska hotel executive, Paul Younes, has been convicted of unlawfully employing a Mexican citizen, who was unauthorized to work in the United States. The company, Kearney Hospitality Inc., for which Younes is an officer and director, also pleaded guilty to the same offense.

The U.S. Attorney’s investigation demonstrated a Mexican citizen, who was working at a Hastings, Nebraska hotel operated by Kearney Hospitality Inc., quit employment in 2014 when she learned the hotel was being investigated. Thereafter, the woman met with Younes, who arranged a job for her under a different name at a motel in Kearney that also was run by Kearney Hospitality.

Younes and Kearney Hospitality are due to be sentences on May 9, 2016. I will keep you informed of the sentence. Younes' attorney says Kearney Hospitality has implemented correcting measures.
