Trump Mocks Asian Accent While Supporters Threaten To Kill Delegates. Roger Algase

Rate this Entry
Recent POLITICO stories show two sides of Donald Trump's presidential campaign. One story refers to a Trump speech in which he mocked an Indian accent in describing his phone conversation with a credit card call center representative.

Is it just barely possible that this crude and offensive example of anti-Asian prejudice might provide further insight into why Trump is now promising to abolish the H-1B visa, as well green cards through labor certification, which together are the heart of America's employment-based immigration system?

The other story describes death threats being made by Trump supporters against Republican convention delegates if they do not support him. These include 4,000 to 5,000 phone calls threatening violence against the Colorado Republican chairman alone.

http://www.politico.com/story/2016/0...porters-222302

POLITICO writes:

"in hotel hallways and across dinner tables, many party leaders attendig this week's meetings shared similar stories. One party chairman says a Trump supporter recently got in his face and promised 'bloodshed' if Trump doesn't win the GOP nomination. An Indiana delegate who criticized Trump received a note warning against 'traditional burial' that ended with 'We are watching you'."

POLITICO continues:

"And also the harassers are typically anonymous, many party leaders on the receiving end of these threats hold Trump himself at least partly responsible, viewing the intimidation efforts as a natural and obvious outgrowth of the candidate's incendiary rhetoric."

And, from the same article:

"Trump's campaign has never explicitly encouraged violence. But it has promoted tactics that have contributed to the delegates' fear."

Are these unrelated reports? Or are they two sides of the same coin of anti-immigrant racism and authoritarian violence coming from the Donald J. Trump presidential campaign? And what do these and other similar news stories tell us about what America might expect from a Trump presidency?

idiot. A person afflicted with profound mental retardation.? This term has largely fallen out of use in modern legal and medical contexts. Cf. IMBECILE.

imbecile (im-ba-sal or -sil). A person afflicted with severe mental retardation. Cf. IDIOT.

    Unregistered222,
Based on your comments, it is fair to assert that the legal definitions posted above may fit very well with your personality.

Mr. Algase, why keep giving attention to a reality-show entertainer like Donald Trump?
Instead, you should place all of your intellect addressing the idiocy and/or imbecility of Trump's supporters in connection to immigration issues (their ignorance, prejudice and gullibility are extremely notorious).

Re Marcel Lecomte's comment, Charlie Chaplin's 1940 movie: The Great Dictator, is considered one of the greatest comedies of all time. It made people all over the world laugh at Adolf Hitler.

Five years later, 6 million Jews had been murdered in Hitler's death camps and 60 million people were dead because of WW2. There was not quite so much laughter then.

I am not saying that Donald Trump is another Hitler. I am saying that Trump could turn out to be less entertaining than Mr. Lecomte appears to believe.

    Good posts guys!

While you are writing posts on the internet, which no one reads, I'm busy making Mr. Donald presidency a reality. One step at a time. No time to argue with you.

PS. Shoving mozlem "refugee" moochers down the throats of US taxpayers is really helping out. Can't understate that.

Since we are on the topic of xenophobic racism: Hillary Clinton says she is adamantly against "illegal immigrants"

Hillary Clinton has a long record of misspeaking on immigration and other issues, as well as misdeeds of various sorts, real or alleged. We all know about Vince Foster, Benghazi, and, now, the emails, not to mention her failure to keep Monica Lewinsky away from Bill. Bad on her, yes indeed!

Having the support of the Koch brothers, which Hillary disavowed a lot faster than Trump did in the case of David Duke's support, is not likely to endear Hillary to many Progressives either.

But even if Hillary's record of statements on immigration is less than ideal and full of opportunism and flip-flopping, which is undoubtedly the case, who is a greater danger to America's democracy - Hillary, or Donald Trump with his agenda of government by death threats, as detailed above, not to mention storm troopers, see:

    http://www.politico.com/magazine/sto...ecurity-213647

and, to top it off, his mass deportation SS (a/k/a "Special Task Force")?

How did Trump, with his agenda of violence, torture and anti-immigration hate, get to be the Republican front runner? Because no one took him seriously until it was too late.

If he becomes president (for life) of the United States of Amerika, and not only 12 million immigrants, but millions of American citizens who support them, wind up in cattle cars for transportation behind the barbed wire concentration camps with Dachau or Buchenwald - like torture chambers, it will be for the same reason.

There, in between their screams, immigrants and their advocates will have plenty of time to reflect on what a horrible president Hillary would have been if she had been elected.
