    Dear editor,

It is interesting to me and probably worth researching: Whenever the USA has had growth it had increased immigration as a catalyst.

I believe if we can halt the attacks on immigration we will then see sustained growth in the USA and also an improvement in quality of life for all plus a better USA in total.

Ronald D. Roberts' letter is a good reminder of a simple, obvious truth which is being obscured by campaign of open bigotry and hate unprecedented in America's modern history by the leading presidential candidate of one of our two major parties, who is promising to Make America White Again.

Which kind of immigration policy will America choose - prosperity or prejudice?

How was Donald Trump able to win the Republican nomination, as he has now done in all but name only? In the face of such intense opposition within his own party, how has he been able to outvote his opponents consistently, in state after state, in all sections of the country?

One of the best explanations of Trump's appeal comes from former US Secretary of Labor Robert Reich, appearing on billmoyers.com on March 11, 2016:

"Viewing Donald Trump in the light of the fascists of the first half of the 20th century - who used economic stresses to scapegoat others, created cults of personality, intimidated opponents, incited violence and disregarded international law...helps explain what Trump is doing and why he is succeeding.

It also suggests why Trump presents such a profound danger to the future of America and the world."

The only thing I would add to Robert Reich's perceptive comments, which, as Americans, we would ignore at our peril, are that Trump is an expert in the use of the Big Lie, a notorious but successful strategy which enabled dictators such as Hitler and Mussolini to take power.

    Immigration Map

    Hello -

I'm a data scientist who dabbles in data visualization, and wanted to pass on something I thought you might find relevant. It is an interactive map, showing U.S. immigration since 1820.

200 years of U.S. immigration visualized

Thought it might be a fun piece of content that Immigration Daily readers would enjoy.

Don't ask why Mr. Trump is winning. Mr. Obama did it! How? By opening the doors of our nation to drug dealers, terrorists (911) and criminals, as long as they have money or power. Meanwhile, he placed his friends (Mr. Mamet) in embassies such as Buenos Aires, to mistreat Senior American citizens and spouses here, separating families, with FRAUD... Cry for me, USA and Argentina!

President Obama has received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2009, has much compassion and more ethics than most presidents of his time, is well travelled and so well read, fights for civil rights, instigator of Immigration Reform, the affordable Care Act, and Gun Control.
I wonder what your comments would be on Trump...
