Ismael Cala, CNN Atlanta, Georgia, came to Argentina for a journalist?s tradeshow. I sent him a letter, stating clearly about the fraud by the local Buenos Aires Embassy, keeping Mar?a?s (my spouse under the local city law) money, simply because she is Colombian, not even checking her paperwork, although sponsored by the local Chamber of Commerce. Funny that ISIL hit again at home today, while American diplomats grant visas to violent families and denies them to old, serious loving women of American Seniors. And, some folks even complain about Mr. Trump being violent. Is this not simply violence exercised by Obama?s diplomats? Again, folks, FACTS. 50 American died: Blame American diplomacy and their pundits, paid with our taxes...

I am writing at a time of great danger to American democracy. One of our two major parties, going against the strong reservations, if not outright opposition, of many of its own Congressional leaders, is about to nominate a presidential candidate who, in effect, is calling President Obama a traitor for stating the simple truth that no evidence has yet been discovered connecting the Orlando killer to any radical Islamic terror group, even though he may have been influenced by Internet propaganda by such groups. To the contrary, the evidence so far indicates that the killer was in all likelihood a lone wolf, evidently influenced by homophobia, something which is hardly absent from mainstream American society, including many, if not most, Republican lawmakers.

The killer's father, admittedly a Taliban supporter, immigration to the US three decades ago, at a time when Afghan Islamic fighters were considered American allies and openly supported by the Reagan administration against a feared Soviet takeover in Afghanistan.

To accuse the president of the United States of putting the interests of our enemies ahead of the American people, simply because he opposes a world-wide ban on peaceful, non-violent immigrants belonging to the Muslim religion is so unhinged and delusional as to put the stability and fitness of this candidate, Donald Trump, for the highest office in the land into serious question.

The viciousness and mendacity of Trump's attacks, not only against the president, but against almost anyone who disagrees with him on any issue, and his targeting more than a billion Muslims around the world, including several million US citizens, for the violent actions and agenda of a deranged radical extremist comparatively few, cannot help but bring back memories of Adolf Hitler's rise to power based on his attacks on the Jews as an allegedly dangerous fifth column and world-wide enemy which he blamed, among many other things, for "stabbing Germany in the back" during WW1.

Almost as disturbing and dangerous for our democracy is former House Speaker Newt Gingrich's June 14 call to bring back the House Committee on Un-American Activities, which in the 1950's during the Mccarthy era, become notorious for persecuting American citizens for alleged Communist sympathies and destroying the lives and careers of many innocent people.

Now Gingrich wants to do the same thing to 3 or 4 million Muslim US citizens whom Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell has rightly referred to as loyal, patriotic Americans, or to anyone else who stands up for the Constitutional rights of their Muslim fellow citizens or legal immigrants.

While doing everything possible to protect ourselves against those who would do us harm, starting with real gun control laws that will help keep these weapons out of the hands of killers of any race, religion or nationality, as Americans, we must not trade away our freedoms and our democracy to the merchants of fear and hate.

I enjoyed many friendly debates with Greg. We appreciate his intelligence, friendly manner and sense of humor. I will remember him as a staunch advocate for EB-5 reform and a thought leader in the industry. I extend my heartfelt sympathy to the White family and his colleagues at Seyfarth Shaw.
