It is bad enough USA had Chinese Exclusion Act. Then, the USA had to issue apology to Japanese American who were imprisoned during WWII.

If we Americans allow Donald Trump to be elected as president, we probably will have similar acts to exclude other people in his list. What does USA become?

We really need to encourage every people we can to vote Ms. Clinton. No vote does not help the democratic selection at all.

That is my thought on Chinese Exclusion Act.

    Peace and Vote.

I totally agree with Marian Chou. Whipping up fear and hatred of immigrants of non-European ancestry is at the heart of Donald Trump's presidential campaign. It would be naive in the extreme to think that he would change his tune if he ever took power as president.

I have discussed the latest example of the way in which Donald Trump is trying to exploit fears of crime and terrorism as a way to demonize and stir up hatred of Latino and Middle Eastern immigrants in particular in my bloo post in today's' (August 22) Immigration Daily.

However, Trump has also not neglected to bring back at least the malevolent and bigoted spirit, if not the letter, of the infamous Chinese and other 19th and 20th century Asian exclusion laws through humiliating and mocking Chinese and Indian immigrants by making fun of what he imagines to be their accents.

Based on comments too numerous to mention that Trump has made during this campaign, he shows every sign of wanting to take America back to the era of white supremacist immigration laws and policies that were in force prior to the great immigration reform of 1965.

The only question is whether Trump would try to bring about this reversion to America's past history of immigration laws based on race through democratic means, or whether, as in the case of leaders in countries such as Germany during 1933-1945 and many other places, he would try to accomplish this through dictatorship.

Let us hope that America never has to find this out.

Yesterday, I had the proof that Divine Justice exists. “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness (Matthew 5:6).” I prayed that I could have the chance to meet in person and see eye to eye to this escapist ambassador Noah Mamet, always hiding behind the skirts of Maxwell Smart kind of secret agents. We, the American people have rights he forgets or ignores.

And, there he was, downtown Buenos Aires, showing off, when I found him at a newsstand. My spouse was with me, and I reminded him in front of the Argentine people, also folks of mine, how his Embassy stole the money of her visa, with fraud, not even checking her paperwork, despite the fact she came with the sponsorship of the American Chamber of Commerce for a simple and also humanitarian, in any case, tourist visa. Why? Because she is Colombian, simply a senior harmless professional. Now, she became also an Argentinean citizen. Mr. Mamet is adding more and more foes in Argentina, his host. The local Press praises him, simply because they are after America?s money and credit. I will let all people that I can (as a university professor) know who this “actor” is, just playing Hollywood with the local Press, like the Pharisees did. I also sent letters to the Press, anyway. And, I will eventually go back home to California and let folks there know about this gentleman and his violation to the law and to Human Rights. I think his family needs to know how he hurts my family, too.

This outrageous situation with the “capricious immigration business” must stop at once. We, America, are a Country of immigrants, and a Human Rights champion. Consuls are simply bad tempered little fascists with undeserved power, abusing their Latin America hosts and illegally keeping their money. Enough is enough.

One great nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
