While many of us are still down about the Senate's ability to move CIR forward, we can at least take solace that we now have leaders in Congress who see immigrants as a source of strength for the country and not the enemy. After more than a decade of a House Immigration Subcommittee that was the source of a lot of the anti-immigration rhetoric that seems to have become commonplace in the GOP, the Democratic victory in November led to the takeover of the committee by an outstanding group that includes pro-immigration advocates like Sheila Jackson-Lee and the subcommittee's new chair Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren.
Ms. Lofgren has taken on the Visa Bulletin scandal head on by firing off letters to both DHS Secretary Chertoff and DOS Secretary Condoleeza Rice taking them to task for what has transpired.

While immigrants are under attack from all fronts right now, it's important to know that at least one center of power in the country is on their side.

THANKS GREG FOR YOUR SUPPORT.
EB legal immigrants were getting disheartened that AILA and immigration lawyers care only about illegal immigrants.
