USCIS OFFICER MAKES HOUSE CALLS FOR NATURALIZATION OATHS

Not all the news I report regarding US Citizenship and Immigration Services is bad. Here's a nice piece on a USCIS officer that travels to people's homes who are too frail or ill to be able to attend a regular oath ceremony. I've had clients over the years that are not too different from the folks interviewed in the story and it's really great to see this more human side of USCIS.

The USCIS officer is going beyond his duties to do such a task.
But on the lighter side..there will be a monstrous increase in the number of old/elderly oath takers if they dont clear the current retrogression.

On the other hand, you have my 80 y.o. Haitian client this morning whose N-648 the natz officer simply rejected without (meaningful) explanation except for "Nexus Nexus Nexus." My efforts to explain how the N-648 showed the nexus didn't change her response one iota. I understand she probably had 8 million i/v's to do today, but still ... for every one feel good story about house visits or Craig Ferguson, there's a bunch of other cases where poor people get screwed. That's just the way it is.
