SENATORS DEMAND ANSWERS ON NATURALIZATION DELAYS
Why does an application that now costs twice as much to file as this time last year take twice as long to adjudicate? This and other questions are being asked by Democrat power Senators Kennedy, Schumer and Leahy.

Another worthwhile follow up question is: are they going to reallocate staff away from EB greencards to deal with this political pressure?
Is Michael Aytes willing to go on the record and say that USCIS will issue the full 140K EB greencards it is supposed to issue in FY 2008? (check out their lousy record on this on p. 34 of the 2007 Ombudsmans Report. In 2003-2006 they threw away over a year supply worth (146K) of EB greencards).
Anyone else wondering why the Yearbook of Immigration Statistics for FY 2007 hasn't been released even though it has been 6-months since the end of FY 2007?

Regarding delays in naturalization this article is pretty interesting particularly the usual rants from racist Kirkorian.
