MEDIA MATTERS TAKES ON DOBBS, O'REILLY AND BECK

Media Matters has issued a comprehensive report outlining some of the outlandish theories that hosts of various cable "news" shows are promoting. The shows are also criticized for promoting extremists groups by inviting their representatives on their shows.

Maybe "highly partisan" would have been more accurate to say than highly biased. I think Hillary Clinton said that she helped start that organization? This would make one suspicious that they have a political agenda and bias.

'Personally, I do not like media matters as they are highly biased politically.'

I don't know that much about them but they say they are progressive. Which poses a problem for a media watchdog's credibility. The person/group accusing someone of bias is openly bringing their own bias. A watchdog correcting errors from all sides is the way to build credibility.

What would anyone think if Tancredo and Bilbray (instead of the Hispanic caucus members) appeared with, e.g., Mark Krikorian (instead of Frank Sharry) at some non-progressive watchdog's press conference for some big report? You shouldn't have people like that from either side at your press conference. Geez.

"O'Reilly, his beef is mostly against sanctuary cities giving refuge to criminals"

I have never heard of canctuary cities that give refuge to criminal. Unauthorized presence is not criminal, last time I checked.

Personally, I do not like media matters as they are highly biased politically.

Everyone knows Dobbs is a bum, but including O'Reilly and Beck smacks of a political witch hunt to me.

From what I have seen of O'Reilly, his beef is mostly against sanctuary cities giving refuge to criminals who are in the U.S. illegally and ineffective removal of criminal illegals. That is a legitimate issue. I just don't get the impression he is out to smear all immigrants or even all illegals as Dobbs clearly is.

This is a very nice collection of immigration myths with proper education on what is really happening. Great job!

I haven't spent a lot of time on this bill because I've been pretty pessimistic about its chances. While in the pre-anti-immigration days, you could get immigration measures successfully attached to appropriations bills, these days it just won't happen. It takes too many votes to overcome a germane objection and they're just not there. Standalone immigration bills CAN pass and hopefully will soon.

The guys helming those shows are "sick twisted freaks", well written article, thanks Greg for the link.

Greg, why is there no news about the immigration bills attached to the Emergency Iraq bill. According to this link it seems they are dead ducks http://www.jbs.org/node/8149

Democrats for sure are "spineless", did not have the guts to take it to the floor for a sensible debate

I used to hate all illegals, but after reading this report, I kinda sympathize with them. Not for why they entered US, but because of the negative images that are being perpetuated. I am probably softening a little bit but one thing I know for sure...THROW LOU DOBBS, O'REILLY, BECK, AND CO. OUT OF THE U.S. BEFORE ANYONE DARE LAY A HAND ON ANY ILLEGAL!
