Did Obama say nationwide crime rose? Did Obama say according to the FBI crime rose? According to a new Tennessee Bureau of Investigation report, hate crimes rose 28 percent overall between 2006 and 2007. But hate crimes against Hispanics more than doubled. That is according to who.

'Cause. Effect.'
Basis. None. Come on, Greg. How could you (or anyone) possibly prove cause-effect?
'There's a reason why hate crimes against Hispanic people doubled last year," Obama said.'
Doubled? According to whom? Not the FBI.
I've looked at the FBI stats. It says 'Note: Because agency participation levels vary each year and for other reasons, the FBI does not recommend comparing hate crime statistics from year to year.' Thus, isn't Obama 'ginning up' (to borrow his term) when he cites a difference from the prior year (even assuming he had the % right)?
There are more Hispanics than blacks but only 819 Hispanic victims vs. 3333 black victims. They warn us not to but if you're gonna compare year to year, the % increase in crimes against blacks is also higher than the % increase against Hispanics. So why single out Hispanics and not blacks?
Also of note: in the religion table, about 5 1/2 times more Jewish victims than Islamic despite a much smaller population.
Male homosexual victims 4 1/2 times higher than female homosexual.

"Calling me a Xenophobe? Responsible for hate crimes? My feelings are hurt here." - Rush Limbaugh
It's okay for people like Rush and Lou to yap and yip that ('illegal') immigrants are the root of all evil (the new communists, if you like!), but when a bigger dog barks back at them...
Yipe-yipe-yipe-yipe.
Classic.
