HOW FAR APART ARE MCCAIN AND OBAMA ON IMMIGRATION?
The LA Times says not so far apart. But it might depend on exactly how McCain's position is defined. The anti-McCain video below gives a flavor of how the opponents of the Arizona Senator are trying to shape the issue.
Here is another LA Times story:
For the first time in a quarter century the Demos are on track to pick-up a Senate seat in Mississippi:

This was an interesting story. Obama is better on immigration than McCain. After all, he offered an amendment to sunset the CIR's obnoxious point system.

I really cannot figure out how far Obama and McCain on immigration. But, suffice it to say that these guys, though not my first choices (we really need someone like Evan Bayh of Mark Warner as President)are definitely better than Mitt Romney and Fred Thompson. Meanwhile this is the anti's (paritcularly the CIS and FAIR) vision for America....a low skilled America. Say nothing when the state governments go after education during hard times and then complain when foreign skills are imported...

Interesting we Americans keep saying that we need to be given preference for high paying jobs when we dont seem to be that qualified according to this study, and our record in banking and airline industry will make anyone pause before hiring any of us.
