Karl Rove warned the GOP about this years ago and it is why he banned Tom Tancredo from the White House. Here's what he writes this week in Newsweek:

He is too closely associated to Bush and it would seem hard for republicans to listen to him these days. He makes good points I just do not see today's republican party moving on these principles specially trying to appeal to Hispanic, supporting CIR and Obama. You can always count on partisanship and it will get the better of them, they will become the party of "hell no Mr. Obama".

Memo to Karl Rove:
Obviously you were not around immediately after 9/11 espousing these views. Had you framed the debate as one of uniting Christians against radical Islam led by Taliban and pushed for CIR right after 9/11 instead of abdicating the role to racists such as Tancredo, Bilbray, Musgrave, Blackburn, Deal, Westmoreland among others, you would have succeeded in building a long-lasting GOP majority. You stood by while racists such as Mark Kirkorian, Heather MacDonald, Jessica Vaughn and Dan Steyn and their racist organizations appealed not to Christians or Jews but to white skin worshipping pagans in the Deep South and the Rocky Mountain States..that is why GOP is in this predicament. As the Bible says, you reap what you sow!
