Hi-
I’m the online editor for Long Island Wins and I’m organizing a blog campaign today and tomorrow to commemorate the one-year anniversary of Marcelo Lucero’s murder. We’re also hosting a petition on Change related to CIR and bringing immigrants out of the shadows.
We’d love for you to participate with a post. Click here for info and the blog campaign badge:

The leadership of the nation (democrat and republican) has squandered away national wealth by their failed policies. Two decades of trade deficits with China failed to draw attention to the coming disaster. Immigrants did not cause this.
Year after year people sat, ate popcorn and watched politicians attack each other and spend billions on TV ads. Meaningful debate turned into innuendos and vicious personal attacks. The common man meanwhile debated issues like abortion. Thus everyone had their eyes on issues other than the economy and the fast erosion of US wealth. Who did the politicians blame when the collapse finally came - immigrants. AND they took massive bonuses to rub it in to all.
Immigrants enrich America, give it a technological edge over China and Russia and help improve the quality of life by making things affordable and cheap for the American consumer. Healthcare is a problem because of the greed of the medical community including insurance companies, doctors, pharmaceutical companies, attorneys and the fact that the leaders turned a bling eye to all the mismanagement of the system for individual and corporate profits.

"I thought that all of those people complaining about illegal immigration wanted a job.....where is their job application?????"
If they dont apply, it is something else that is driving their anger. It is definitely not the benevolent wish to pay higher prices and help fellow Americans, is it? Last week, here in the DC area, I saw some top people from CIS shop in a local store run by a Korean immigrant instead of shopping and paying higher prices at Giant, Safeway or Harris Teeter. Sounds more like racism is driving their anger. That is why they are not protesting cuts in education budgets that could train Americans. However, they will be back in four years when there is a shortage saying that we need to train more Americans..somebody needs to ask them where they were in 2009 when all those education funding was getting cut!
