PROUD RACIST

A Santa Clarita, California city councilman has landed himself in to a heap of trouble for declaring himself a "proud racist" over his immigration views. Bob Kellar's controversial remarks are making the rounds on YouTube and the LA Times is reporting as well.

California has its share of proud racists, perhaps including some editors of Vanity Fair, but I hear no complains about Brit women takin the slot of Americans in an American magazine from racists at CIS and FAIR...

Now I know Vanity Fair addresses mostly Fair people (whites), but does FAIR mean they are for white people as well...if so they are aptly named, they want to keep the country majority FAIR...majority white!

Sadly, the so called fair and balanced media these days has forgotten the true meaning of journalism. Good writing is so skewed by whether you are from the right or the left that it completely obscures all possibility of presenting the reality of the current American condition. Sadly, under these circumstances, the losers are the common people - who are left homeless, jobless, without medical insurance, or any of the benefits that honest tax paying citizens have come to expect in nations across the world. America has become an insular society - unwilling to take a good hard critical look at itself and equally unwilling to learn from any other society. In that vein, it would do well to remember that immigration is the lifeblood of America. The only original inhabitants were and are the American Indians. Instead of inciting hate and distrust by creating a false impression of America's 'rosy' past, we would be better served to focus on contributions by immigrants, and a celebration of our diversity - that is the true American way! It is not one language, one colour, intolerance, unfairness, lies in the name of truth, or inability to see each other's point of view - a direction that powerful media and corporate interests are using to their benefit and that political dialogue has embraced in Washington.

My apologies for rambling and being wrong on the county...should have mentioned that rich Chinese from Arcadia were buying property in Huntington Beach to the great consternation of whites there.

Sorry, George, Santa Clarita is not in Orange County (I live in OC, in Santa Ana.)
Santa Clarita is in LA country, located north of LA, near the I-5. The Six Flags Magic Mountain amusement park is the biggest attraction of the city.

And the city of Arcadia that you mention is also in LA county, near Pasadena.

And while Santa Ana has a large Hispanic population, it also has a pretty large white population, in particular in the southern part of the city.

Santa Clarita is in Northern L.A. county. It is a very conservative area.

There are enough people who back this guy in the area. Despite being one of the richest counties in the country, Orange is very segregated and loads of well educated racist people, though generally not prone to violence unlike northern Georgia. Santa Ana and Anaheim are Hispanic, Seal Beach is Asian..across the stream, Huntington Beach is very Anglo-Saxon, Newport Beach is Jewish and Laguna Beach is ethinic white from southern Europe mostly. Asians and whites did not get along for a long time, and now there is a truce. Last July I saw whites protest the purchase of forclosed properties by rich Chinese living in Arcadia...so this does not surprise me!
