Here is your 'h1b' best and brightest

Calling himself a Muslim soldier, a defiant Pakistan-born U.S. citizen pleaded guilty Monday to carrying out the failed Times Square car bombing and left a sinister warning that unless the U.S. leaves Muslim lands alone, "we will be attacking U.S."

Who is more selfish than immigration lawyers?
I was unaware that you can pick "smart people" with out a test
and by lottery, people who think 1300 x 52 < 65000 should know for sure who is selfish and what is good for America. How do you get a law degree when you don’t know how to add subtract or multiply? Save your sermon on selfishness for someone else.

Mr. George Chell have you ever read a newspaper? England’s economy is destroyed, why are you bragging about their H1b policy. Germany has one of the strongest economies in Europe. The moronic posts on this website never cease to amaze me. You guys don’t have the math skill to divide 65000 by 12, all your worried about is how to line your pockets with money you could care less about America.

If you’re unable to divide 65000 by 12 what makes you think you know what is best for America. You’re certainly not open to listening to an American programmer.

Reading your web site is like reading cult writings, creepy and satanic.

Pankaj,

Actually life is not that symmetrical. Demand is maximum in the first weeks and then tails off. So the assumption that the quota won't be reached (whether right or wrong) is made based on precedent for the pattern of demand through the year.
Your conclusion is an assumption too. Care to back up your numbers by showing us that demand remains at the same level every month of the year?

" At that pace, the 65,000 would not be reached this year."
How did you reach this conclusion? 13,000 visas were requested in the first week. In addition, 3,000 visas were requested in rest of April. If you assume a pace of 3,000 visas / month for 18 months (remember this year quota runs from April 2010 to Sep 2011) then total consumption = 3,000 * 18 = 54,000. Add to that the initial 13,000 that were requested in the first week.
Total: 13,000 + 54,000 = 67,000. 67,000 > 65,000 so by simple math visas will be exhausted even if the economy doesn't improve.

Please do not post numbers without backing them up.

"US might be the only country which restricts entry of smart people."

No. Western Europe, particularly Germany and Iceland and to some extent Denmark beats the US. In Asia, Japan beats the US hands down! UK will beat the US after thursday's elections! And in Australia, the opposition wants to beat the US as well! Canada, Singapore, Hong Kong and the People's Republic of China are ahead of the US as far as liberal policies towards skilled foreign labor.

Look at the selfish folks in this blog who believe that migration is a one way street...and especially read the comment by the smart guy Adam who tells us that Canada is over-populated..and needs fewer immigrants....he really thinks we are all fools...

http://dallasmorningviewsblog.dallasnews.com/archives/2010/05/so-is-she-a-big.html

Gordon Brown probably made a fool of himself by calling the woman a bigot..bigot probably not...selfish...yes...Brown did explain to her that Brits work in Europe as well...but she was not interested in that...like many other Brits I met in Singapore, this woman thinks it is a one way street...it is ok for the Brits to work abroad, but not for the foreigners to work in the UK.

"However, we can expect a pick up in filings later in the year as the economy continues to mend and graduates of US institutions going in to professions requiring licenses start filing cases."

...dont be so sure, especially if corporations find it easier to locate jobs abroad.

I wonder why don't they give away with weird intrepretation of law, increase demand and hire more people?

Can they not recapture GCs from previous years without any congress involvment? That would boost the demand. High skilled immigration should be a no brainer in this country. US might be the only country which restricts entry of smart people. Patients dying from nursing shortage and restrictions on immigration. I don't know but it is strangely funny.
