Louis Gohmert (R-TX), a member of the House Immigration Subcommittee, makes outrageous statements on immigration all the time, but this was pretty over the top. Media Matters reports and has provided the clip below.

I was just in Texas. Just got back to DC. Not very surprising. He represents his racist constituents very well indeed! More than half the white population in Texas is very fearful of a Latino majority.

WOW Jack that is a new low for you defending the accurate lies of FOX NEWS!!! Right off the bat on the video there are plenty of lies.... This guy fromn TX says that people that aren't getting deported will go to vote from Obama. I got news for you Jack ONLY US citizens are allowed to vote and Illegal voting will get you barred from any Immigration benefit by law. I am sure these people care ore about voting than regularizing their situation, is just such joy to be in the US illegally. The FOX commentator is either too ignorant, too stupid or flat out does not care about someone flat out telling lies on his broadcast. You pick one my guess is all of the above....sooo if you do not want to believe media matters don't but the evidence of the lies is clear on the video. As the criminal part of the immigrants as many times we have corrected you if you want to call someone a criminal because they committed a misdemeanor then we are a nation of criminals all of us. So I ask you Jack "what part of illegal don't you understand" you criminal!!!

That's their problem: what about other misinformation? I guess they just turn a blind eye to it (or are just not very well-informed). E.g., they put the following in bold:

They just couldn't resist the dig at Fox News. The only problem is that Crowley is correct. Susan Church is wrong. Oh, well. She sure was insulting toward our assigned enemy Fox, wasn't that cool?! Commenters can post the relevant U.S. Code section all they want or send an email pointing out the falsehood. It won't matter because open border talking points have nothing to do with facts. The dogma is so ingrained, even an immigration attorney made a fool of herself on national TV spouting it!

In many of Media Matters' immigration "corrections", they don't even explain why the supposedly false statement is incorrect. You read the title and go, "And..." I guess differing from Open Borders 101 is just automatically assumed to be false. It's really quite funny.
