At least two population milestones have been reached in 2011. The most spectacular is that 7 billion people now live in the world. The second, and more meaningful to Americans, is that nearly 40 million immigrants live in the United States today.

Moving post.

I wait for 10+ years for my Green card. Even thought the wait is hard, I feel the laws today are not like 1930s.

Thanks to many lawmakers, officials and individuals who enacted/improved/fixed the immigration laws.

I remember the dedication and the symphony by John Williams on the Statue of Liberty re-dedication on its Centennial, July 4, 1986 fifteen years before 9/11 changed America forever...

Soon after its dedication the Simpson-Mazolli bill to curb skilled immigration died in the conference. Had Simpson succeeded he would have turned this country into another Greece.
