The NY Times has a story this morning discussing how immigration is not nearly the hot issue in the Republican primary taking place tomorrow that many figured it would be. The legal hot water Sheriffs Joe and Paul find themselves in, the recall of Russell Pearce, the bad public relations SB1070 has brought and the embarrassing antics of Governor Brewer have given Arizonans "immigration fatigue" and that's apparently worrying anti-immigration activists in the state.

If you can give me an answer to whether blacks, Hispanics and Asians who are US citizens move into the state in large numbers, I will answer the question.

I would think it's a temporary lull to let things slide down. Passions can and will be stirred whenever it suits the political masters. As for the common man, they have to do a whole lot before they can rationally think about these matters.

Even the web page is down (https://www.buildtheborderfence.com/azborder). Maybe antis have realized the futility of such agitations and that Supreme Court is going to come out against Arizona in Arpil 2012, when they decide on SB1070.
