This is hardly surprising. Arizona Governor Jan Brewer has signed an executive order saying the state would not offer any benefits, including drivers licenses, to beneficiaries of the Deferred Action for Child Admissions (DACA) program. This is mainly blustering because the state already ties those benefits to visa status rather than employment authorization and possession of a social security card (as is common in many states). Still, it reminds us that the antis are more about being anti-immigrant than about law and order. They claim they are punishing people who violate the law, but now that these immigrants will be documented, they're still focused on punishing them simply for being here.

"They do pay taxes"
Like Romney pays "taxes" , We will believe when we see their returns. If one makes a purchase in a state that has sales tax, one need to pay tax.
I love to see how much income tax these people pay.

"How about following rules and paying back the taxes?"
They do pay taxes, and after the likes of you created the rules that make it impossible for 90% of prospective immigrants to come legally, it is a bit self-righteous of you to ask to follow the rules that ban these people from immigrating.

Most actualy pay taxes for those who want to post their opinion without doing any research stop showing your ignorance please. not asking you to go read a law book you just have to google. have a nice day.

74% percent of these so called "DREAMERS" are from Mexico and Centra America according to the migration policy institute report. I guess Country quotas are good here too if they are good for EB immigration.

I thought these "dream kids" can read English and fill applications published in English. After all advocates claim they are all "all American".

How about following rules and paying back the taxes?
Also can you explain what should be done with the parents as they will continue to stay and work in US. Also parents are not going to benefit anything from this executive order how do you think government should treat them?
It is not about who is superior, it is about following law of the land and those parents are at this moment are not following.
If you are saying US government should.reward them then you should get a platinum star.

Ok we'll give you a gold star for that!!!

Yes it will be a win win situation.
But government still need to collect the taxes they evade for all these years plus whatever penalty iaccording to the IRS rules. Unless they pay their dues to the society they should not be offered any kind of benefits or any status just like the order in arizona.
Also there should be more strict laws for illegal immigration reduction.
Again I have nothing against the kids but with the fence jumping parents and they should be penalized.

This lady is stupid DL's specially for the young immigrants could trigger car sales, insurance sales, tag fees, sales taxes why would AZ's economy need that.......
"
Next thing they will ask for is in state tuition , state aid , federal aid , affirmative action. One of their main claims for EADS is that they are more American than legal immigrant children.
Posted by: Sa | August 17, 2012 at 09:13 AM
Exactly, turning down revenue for no good reason whatsoever.

"How much tax parents of these children paid in at least last five years; assuming that they were feeding their own children by working in United States without any permit?"
Thanks for making the point that it is a good thing to make these people legal.
They can get out of the shadow economy, get better-paying jobs which result in income tax payments, which helps the US.
So, a win-win situation for everybody.

"Still, it reminds us that the antis are more about being anti-immigrant than about law and order."
How's that?
"They claim they are punishing people who violate the law"
They are still in violation of the law:
What is deferred action?
When an immigrant is granted “deferred action,” it means the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has deemed the individual a low priority for immigration enforcement and has chosen to exercise its discretion and not deport the individual. Deferred action provides temporary relief from enforcement but may be revoked at any time. Deferred action is not amnesty or immunity. It does not provide lawful immigration status or a path to a green card or citizenship. It does not extend to any family members of the person granted deferred action.
http://www.immigrationpolicy.org/just-facts
"now that these immigrants will be documented"
See above. It seems like anti-enforcements are talking out of both sides of their mouths. When pro-enforcements characterize what Obama did as administrative amnesty, they take offense and are quick to downplay deferred action as just discretion, not amnesty--but they want everyone to treat them as if they actually were granted amnesty and are fully legal.

How much tax parents of these children paid in at least last five years; assuming that they were feeding their own children by working in United States without any permit?

However, if the undocumented complete their education and contribute to society, it will attract business into CA or whichever state they work in and it will add to the state's coffers. Yes, CA is bankrupt but dont worry AZ is heading in that direction as well with more foreclosures and vacancies as people leave the state. Arizona has one of the weakest economies in the country. At least California is adding jobs while AZ is not adding any. Is n't it interesting that none of the anti-immigrant states make the list.

They can come to CA and get more benifits like in state tuition etc at CA taxpayers expense.
