Typical Amrican (or should I say typical white southerner with all due respect to Greg)?

Not qualified to attend UT, she blames minorities. I am pretty certain that there are people like her who blame the skilled migrants for their woes..when it comes to blacks they will say affirmative action is the main problem. When it comes to skilled migrants it is low wages. Of course, Americans and white Americans are always entitled whether they perform or not!

Had Romney at least pushed skilled immigration reform he might have been forgiven by a few. Instead he hid behind Jan Brewer's skirts and Michelle Bachmann's skirts as well. And he is still hiding.

Sorry Greg just sharing as I come across stuff :) I agree with you 100% in all counts.

Hi Beppe - A cousin of mine worked for Specter before he went in to politics and always had good things to say about him. It's unfortunate that there are not so many in Congress anymore who are interested in coming up with bipartisan solutions to the country's problems.

AV - You beat me to posting this. Two years ago I heard Norquist make the pro-immigration case and was pleasantly surprised since I disagree with his fiscal views vehemently.

Conservative Grover Norquist Talks Immigration Reform

In the speech, Norquist repeated the idea that while restrictionist immigration policies may appear to rile up voters, the energy doesn't transfer to the ballot box. "Some issues move votes, some issues move tongues," he said.

Hi Greg,
probably you did not see it, but last night Arlene Specter passed away. I will never forget him during the Immigration debate in 2006, i think that he did everything possible to make it happen
RIP

In the end it will only matter if the go out to vote....some Hispanics support Obama but may not get themselves to the polls thinking it did not matter in 2008 why is this time going to be different. Just like rural voters vote for the GOP against their own interest Hispanics may do the same thing if they stay home for this one it's hard to know.....
