The same can not be said for opponents of reform, many of whom will sooner or later pay a price.
McCain told CNN's Candy Crowley that conservatve voters would be satisfied if border security provisions are strong. Polls back him up on this. And he also is hinting at a secret the anti-immigrant groups would rather people not know - they don't actually represent a lot of people. They just represent very LOUD people who apparently have plenty of time on their hands to pollute the comments sections of every mainstream publication that reports on immigration and to bombard members of Congress with their message. Public opinion polls show the real picture and it is of a solid majority of Americans backing the kind of reform being proposed by Senator McCain.

Jack, I have a wishlist, too. A Tom Ford hand bag and a Rick Owens leather jacket are on it. I want those things. I even have the money to pay for them. But I choose not to, because it is not practical, and I would rather put the money into a 529 plan. The same with the wishes of American public todeport people. They wish those people would be deported or given some status. They don't really care, but what they do care about is money - they don't wish to pay a minimum of $10K per person to deport them. So, the question of the wishlist is pretty much closed.

"Heather is a former Valley Girl..who is angry because Asians are moving into her neighborhood near Los Angeles."
You know this how?
"Public opinion polls show the real picture"
What about this one from Reuters?
"Thirty percent of those polled think that most illegal immigrants, with some exceptions, should be deported, while 23 percent believe all illegal immigrants should be deported.
Only 5 percent believe all illegal immigrants should be allowed to stay in the United States legally, and 31 percent want most illegal immigrants to stay."

I will say this...some of the anti-immigration groups are misguided but most of them are racists..the entire CIS and FAIR gang..Stein, Kirkorian, Camarotta and Vaughan as well as Malinga and Heather McDonald at the Manhattan Institute. Heather is a former Valley Girl..who is angry because Asians are moving into her neighborhood near Los Angeles.
