Republicans' Witnesses for Tomorrow's Senate Hearing Raise Questions on Cornyn

Two of the witnesses in tomorrow's Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on immigration will look familiar. That's because they are the two anti-immigrant witnesses who testifed last week in front of the House Judiciary Committee. Jessica Vaughan of the FAIR-backed Center for Immigration Studies and Chris Crain, the ICE union chief, were presumably selected by Jon Cornyn and Chuck Grassley. Grassley is hopeless and if he votes for anything resembling the Gang of Eight plan, then if you look to the skies you'll probably see pigs flying. But Cornyn has been more of a question mark. He sometimes seems reasonable and then will sound as anti-immigrant as a Jan Brewer or Steve King. The hearing tomorrow may tell us a little more about where he stands, but the mere choice of Vaughan and Crain as witnesses is worrisome.
