Remember a few weeks ago an anti-immigrant group was running attack ads going after South Carolina Senator Lindsay Graham? Now a group is responding with an ad that defends the Senator. This is encouraging. Last time, the anti-immigrant groups largely had no one pushing back. That can't happen this time.

On the one hand, 2/3 of the green cards go to family cases and 14% to employment cases (the rest go to refugees and lottery). On the other hand, slashing family numbers might really upset Latinos and if the main reason the GOP is coming around on immigration is to try and be more appealing to Latinos, they're not going to do so that way. I'm guessing that we'll probably see the elimination of the Family 4th category (brothers and sisters of US citizens and the end of the lottery) coupled with spouses of permanent residents bumped up to the immediate relative category. I think the parents category will survive. And a lot more numbers will be allocated for skilled workers.

Greg:
What is the real story about restrictions on family based visas to open up more visas for skilled immigrants? In the light of the demise of the bill replacing lottery, do you think that such proposals would clear the senate?

"The Korean Armistice Agreement was nullified on March 11, as we had declared earlier, with the start of the "Key Resolve" joint military exercises by the U.S. and its south Korean puppets. War has resumed between the DPRK and the U.S. From now on nothing will surprise anyone to see large-scale military actions taking place in Korea."

Better legalize as many immigrants as possible because this country will need tons of manpower to fight the upcoming wars against North Korea, Iran, China and the Russian Federation...WW3 is just around the corner folks.
